Dear Robin:
Thank you for writing a symphony of a trip report. It is hard to capture the dimensions and nuances of a trip; the feelings of awe and dismay each trail turn evokes, the interactions with unexpected co-travelers, one's perseverance over injury and biting bugs. You've succeeded masterfully, leaving me anxiously anticipating the second half.
Kudos,
Burnside.

I keep making protein shakes but they always turn out like margaritas.

Another terrific epic TR Robin. You, Brad and bobcat create some literary masterpieces for this place, and the responses ought provide plenty of encouragement for all to wax philosophical when the mood strikes and, most importantly, tell us about your trip - not just that you went.

An epic adventure, to be sure! Personally, I find the lack of privacy and solitude in the "wilderness" discouraging and dispiriting, but absent a newfound legislative sympathy for preservation, that's the way it will be from now on.
Anyway, excellent photos, fascinating trip report and much appreciated!

This was so much fun to read. Thanks for such a thorough report.

Thanks for posting these lengthy reports. I want to know that at least someone read it and benefited from it.
I got to visit the area for the first time last September near Pete Lake. I would like to return sometime. I visited Spectacle lake intending to camp but it was cold, windy, howling, and very unfriendly looking when I arrived. I decided to try visit another time instead.
