Ecola State Park to Indian Beach

Post by Double Tree » May 16th, 2022, 4:47 pm

Had some time this afternoon, after a morning of razor clamming and cleaning them. And with Ecola State park nearby, and a park pass about to expire, a hike sounded like a good idea.

Gorgeous forest of course. The field guide mentions mud. Oh my, yes. Hands down the muddiest hike I've ever done. (Nearby Tillamook Head trail now takes second place). However the cloudy morning gave way to sunshine by the time I slid into Indian Beach, so it was worth it. I did elect to walk the road back to my car though.

Yep, that is some squelchy route. Only way to mitigate that is to spend a lot of time and effort putting graveled, well-drained turnpikes along most of it.
