Lyle Cherry Loop + Rowland Basin Lollipop Route

Two weeks ago we tried the new loop at Cherry Orchard to make a nice figure 8 trek for the day. The trail is in excellent shape and brings some new and interesting views to the west over Lyle. The trail directions provided on this site were spot on as well. Many thanks to the volunteers that worked on this over the years!
Last week we hiked a lollipop route up through Rowland Basin starting from Coyote Wall. The bitterroot were in full display near Catherine Creek. The sun was out, winds were calm and the lupine and poison oak (!) were flourishing. Balsam root was blooming as well but a little past it’s prime.
