Deschutes River from Macks Canyon Hike

Hiked the Deschutes River from Macks Canyon to Fall Canyon Camp. The trail was steep but short through the canyons previously crossed by trestles. Flowers were blooming, but not abundant. We saw many animals, deer directly across from our camp at dusk, bighorn sheep, a coyote, a dead skunk, and many birds (chukar, quail, turkey, ducks, red-winged blackbird). The trail was quiet on Saturday, likely due to the rain. Lovely hike. Quite a difference between the cloudy, rainy Saturday and bright sun on Sunday. The temperature was only ~70 on Sunday, but still warm with almost no shade along the trail.
