Nor do I. My last exposure to Cliff lake shelter was in 2003. It was standing upright and visually intact back then, but posted signage back then warned it wasn't safe to camp inside the shelter. I pitched my tent nearby. I had no problem with that. I slept just as comfortably.
The FS policy of removing or not repairing pre-wilderness shelters inside designated wilderness has been around for at least four decades now. Most of them have succumbed over time to heavy snow loads or falling trees. This outcome could reliably be foreseen when I was still a young man. Hint: that was a very long time ago.
