Kalama Horse Camp - Fossil - Toutle Ski trail loop 9-10-21

After being in Florida for a niece's wedding on Labor Day weekend, where highs were in the 90's, lows in the70's, and steamy dewpoints, it was very nice to be back in the Washington woods. We decided to try a loop starting from Kalama Horse Camp. We knew it would be overcast, so figured this would be a good trail. It was very nice. We did a loop clockwise, going up the fossil trail, following an old road bed, coming down the Blue Lake TH road to the Toutle ski trail and back. Everything was in great shape, except for the last stretch of the Toutle Ski trail which was like walking on beach sand. Most of the pictures were the same - big trees and fog. Here is a sampling:
