Vista Ridge to Elk Cove Camping
Vista Ridge - Counted 36 trees across the trail, maybe 1/3 of which are new. less than 1/2 of them require you to leave the trail to skirt by. Snowfield at the top, as per usual this time of year, no issues though.
Timberline to Elk Cove had a few downed trees, maybe one of which is new, all easy to get under, over, or around. Very few snow patches, all easy to cross. Camped in the Cove with a deer friend.
Hiked out at sunrise.

Beautiful photos! One of my absolute favorite areas on Mt. Hood.
Curious about the bug situation, were they tolerable? I've had some mid-July trips up there that were no issue, and others where we were run out by mozzies and biting flies.

Thank you for checking out the photos!
They were tolerable for people that are used to being outdoors, but for people that are not, they were oppressive at times.

Beautiful photos, and great trip report. Heading up to Vista Ridge today for a day-hike to Eden Park/Cairn Shelter loop.
