Lookout Mountain 6/19/21

We took a gorgeous drive up to High Prairie this afternoon. The road to the trailhead, while bumpy, is fairly manageable. The wildflowers on High Prairie were in bloom.

The hike to the top of Lookout Mountain was doable but there were still some substantial drifts covering parts of the trail, especially nearing the summit.

Views from the top were impressive.

Also there was a good view of the new fire that is burning South of where the White River fire was last year.

All in all it was a great little hike!

Thanks. The Shooting Star were amazing last year. I'm happy those are still there. (I guess they would be, but with the fires and all things are never sure.)

If you can manage it that is a great spot to watch the sunrise come.

I'm saddened to see the fire near Pine Grove so early in the season. Lovely photos.

Thanks for the TR and pics. Somehow, I'd never been up there and decided to give it a shot today.

An amazing amount of snowmelt in the 8 days since you were there!
