Buck Creek Trail - Penny Ridge

Post by ChrisA » June 13th, 2021, 1:51 pm

This is my first post. I hope to get better as time goes on. I have had my eye on the Buck Creek area for a while after seeing the DNR trail maps. There was not a lot of information, so I didn't know if it would be worth it. Of course, any time in the woods is time well spent. We went there on Saturday, starting from McElroy Saddle. We went in about 2.5 miles along Penny Ridge. There were abundant flowers and some Mount Hood views. There was no one else on the trail. We did pass a lot of mountain bikers on the main road. The DNR roads were in great shape. This outing far exceeded my expectations.

We were just up at Monte Carlo via Middle Fork Grove and wondered about hiking Penny Ridge this week. Thanks for the report on conditions.

You're welcome. One thing to note, the trail is dry. The water picture is from down below.
