Cedar Butte Via Keenig Creek Trailhead, OR

Visited Saturday 3/6/21 we didn't see anyone else the whole trail but there was a vehicle parked at the Cedar Butte TH parking area. We also did see 15+ vehicles on Cedar Butte Road. Which was off the main road in (in great condition as there is active logging in the area, if hiking here on a week day the road in may be closed due to logging, we hiked in from Keenig Creek TH; 13.48 miles w/2744ft elevation gain.). Would not recommend this trail for young children, nor is it handicap accessible. No bathrooms at this Cedar Butte TH nor Keenig Creek Trailhead. Information kiosk at Cedar Butte and Keenig Creek TH. No fee necessary. The Cedar Butte trail is about 3.2 miles RT with around 780ft elevation gain. There is snow on the trail and lots of debris from the recent ice storms. The last .75 miles to the summit is the most steep of the trail. Nice clearing at the top with 2 wood benches for a summit break with a view, even in stormy conditions. Most of the hike was on Cedar Butte Road. Beautiful area!
