I guess when February is frigid and snowy, and then is followed by a number of sunny and 60 degree days in early March, flowers that are waiting to come out really can explode. The grass widows must like these sudden spring days almost as much as me. I went up via Little Moab and Coyote Wall and down the traverse and Little Maui. Lots of people out there.

Re: Grass Widow Explosion
The grass-widows got an early start this year, with lots of them coming up in January and early February. I went out there on the 24th and found a pretty sad scene: the big mid-February storm had beaten up the ones that had already bloomed, and I thought there weren't very many more yet to come.
But it looks like I was wrong. A whole 'nother wave of them seems to have appeared from underneath the snow and ice.

More like the main wave, instead of another wave. I saw a few early on but not many.
