Visited this area Monday 1/18/2021. There are two parking areas that can hold 8 vehicles (no handicap spaces), there is also RV parking as you drive in. There are two vaulted toilets. There are information kiosks near the parking area. There is also picnic tables behind the bathrooms. The trail to the viewpoints for the falls is dirt, so not very handicap accessible. Good for young children to check out the falls. There are several great viewpoints. I was going to check out the reservoir, but the trail looked icy going down. You can also access the Mckenzie river trail from here. Remember to leave no trace, pack it in, pack it out and leave the trails better than you found them.
The Ice Cap day use area is currently closed as it is part of the Ice Cap Campground (29sitesw/no hookups, not a lot of privacy, but beautiful area). Parking area enough for 4 vehicles, no handicap parking and not handicap accessible. Great for young childre. Day use fee is quite pricey at $8 with no views of the waterfall. Picnic tables and fire rings available as well as access to hiking trails.
Ice Cap Campground has 29 sites and a camp host, it is open from; 5/22 - 9/7. Single campsites are $18/night and $8 for extra vehicles. There are no RV sites. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. There is no potable water here. Some spaces have beautiful views of Carmen Reservoir.
Hiked 1.24 miles with 77ft elevation gain.
