I went down about 14 miles from Grave Creek. Trail in excellent shape. At least for the winter, but that could change.
I saw no one for several days mid week, then on Sunday there was one other backpacker doing about the same as I did, plus a few day hikers within 3 miles of the trailhead. I was able to get off the trail to pass with no covid transmission.
