Got some cool Fall shots along the Pacific Crest Trail, between Wahtum Lake and Benson Plateau, what a cool hike!

Nice pictures! How's the regrowth looking in the burn zone on the trail between Wahtum Lake and Camp Smokey these days?

It's pretty toasty, in the area just north of Chinidere Mountain. At least there is bear grass. The areas just west of Eagle Creek look really burnt to me... Doesn't seem like lots of regrowth yet, but I'm no expert.

Yeah, the various aerials gave me the impression that this was pretty much the most severely-burned area in the entire fire perimeter. I did this hike myself in summer 2018 there was zero regrowth at all at that point. Glad at least the bear grass is starting to come back!MarkInTheDark wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 3:08 pmIt's pretty toasty, in the area just north of Chinidere Mountain. At least there is bear grass. I find it quite interesting how this ridge served as such a defined firebreak. The west side, completely toasted with nothing surviving. The east side, no burn whatsoever.
