Buck Creek-Wicky Shelter Loop Hike

Post by Sugar Pine » September 20th, 2020, 5:16 pm

Hiked the Buck Creek-Wicky Shelter Loop Hike today. A bit too early for much fall color and too late for huckleberries. The trail was in good shape. Only passed a couple groups of horse riders and a couple mountain bike riders. Pretty dry, doesn't seem like this area had much rain. No issues with smoke, other than the drive along I-84 to Hood River. Enjoyed the Ponderosa Pines.
The hike description was very helpful as the trail crossed roads. We did not see a sign for Rainy’s Meadow (but found the stump) or a sign at the Trout Lake Big Tree.
It is bow hunting season.

Thanks for the info about the signs (or lack of); I'll make changes to the Field Guide.
