Cairn Basin from Vista Ridge TH Aug 22 2020

Beautiful hike. Hike description neglects to mention that shortly after you leave the wilderness permit stand, the forest you encounter was burned- I think in 2011. The dead trees are now a striking, bleached white and quite pretty. Also the understory was full of wildflowers. That second crossing of Ladd's Creek was impossible unless you had hiking poles or were willing to get wet.

The first paragraph of the hike description has this: "Note that much of the trail below the Timberline Trail was burned in the 2011 Dollar Lake Fire."

But I've added another mention of the burn area further down as well. Thanks for the heads-up.
