I didn't see a gate; it looked like an orange and white construction barricade. There was other road construction going on in the area and a flagger stopped us a bit before the Lost Lake turnoff. I don't know why the road was barricaded or how long it will be closed. Other folks seemed surprised by it, too.

It is pretty vague as to where and when roads in that area will be closed, but it does mention long delays and temporary closures as a basis for recommending that folks headed to Lost Lake take a different route.
