Junction Lake - Indian Heaven

Nothing like an early season heat wave for a bluebird visit Indian Heaven just as the snow disappears and before mosquitoes get too bad. I imagine that there is a lot more snow at the highest lakes (Deep, Wapiki) but while the trails have plenty of snow patches and banks, the lakes are mostly melted out. 90s at home in The Dalles, 70s up there.
- Bear Grass blooms next to the road just before trailhead
- Start of the East Crater trail
- About a half mile of snow on trail where it contours on north slope of East Crater
- Junction Lake
- treefall just north of Blue Lake
- Blue Lake, also melted out

- some gorgeous avalanche lilies near Bear Lake
