I went up to the brush creek trail head to see if anything had been done. The young pine trees have shaded out the Snow Brush and by following them I was able to avoid the bad brush areas and was able to get to the summit of the ridge where it was easy going through the Manzanita.
Don’t go to far south from the summit of the ridge because the Manzanita becomes very thick there.
The old trail was marked with orange ribbons but many of these have fallen off the trees so it’s hard to follow the old trail. It went at a sharper angle SW than the route I took.
Maybe after reaching the top of the ridge it may be possible to go west and hit the point where the old trail comes in.
Brush Creek
Re: Brush Creek
Where is Brush Creek trailhead?
Re: Brush Creek
Thomas, it sounds like things have really grown up since you and I hiked there a few years ago.
