Worm Flows via Marble Mountain Sno Park 12/9/19

Post by Solofemalehiker35 » December 10th, 2019, 6:26 am

Visited here 12/8/19 to 12/9/19 for an attempted summit up MSH Worm Flows Route. 2 of our group did not make it to summit and three made it to summit. Conditions were great on the mountain, but snow (patchy in the Forrest and the lava rock was icy coming down early morning) was scarce probably till about 4 miles in. Most of the elevation gain and loss will be in the middle of your trip. My friend and I hiked half of the way up worm flows (3.09 miles) make sure you have a pre downloaded map as it is easy to loose your way on the way down and pay attention to what you're passing on the way up. We did 6.34 miles with 1,668ft elevation gain.

2 Vaulted toilets are located in the middle of the lot. There are 2 large parking areas in the main lot with overflow across the street. The road to ape canyon is gated for winter right now. There is a big common space shelter across from the bathrooms. WA Sno parks require a fee $20/day or $40/per season pass, you must aquire your pass before arrival as there is no fee pay station at this location. There was some rock fall on the last Forrest road right before the sno park. The roads are free of snow, but the parking lot did get slick with ice around 12 to 1am.
