Oregon Hikers

A friend and I did the loop from Mt Hood Mdws up Newton Ck and down Gnarl Ridge, stopping by Elk Meadow, last Saturday. Some slippery snow up high for a short bit. But despite no thinking we would need our spikes, we still managed. Temps were mostly in the 30s and clouds gathered during the day.

I see some ice on that creek. I bet those logs were the only safe way across.

There was some ice hanging there, but most rocks were just wet. I could have hopped if I had needed to.
