South Sister 8/18/19

Post by proxie » August 19th, 2019, 9:21 pm

It's been a couple of years since last did this. Decided it'd be a good conditioning hike for a Mt. Baker climb I have the following weekend. Solid views and usual crowds typical for a Sunday.

Started 8:30 AM (after oversleeping... meant to start earlier), summited 12:30 PM, and then back to the Devil's Lake TH at 4:00 PM. Trail braids a bit up top. Scree up near the top annoying with the 2 steps forward 1 step back.

Junction.

Lewis glacier tarn. Nice rest stop before final summit push.

Nice pictures. And it looks like I missed you on the trail by about 24 hours. Not too shabby considering how small this forum is. I'm working on a hike report of my own.
