Mist Falls -Quick Trip - 4/27/2019

Post by dmthomas49 » April 27th, 2019, 7:21 am

Took at quick early morning trip to Mist Falls - total time from home in Vancouver and back less than 2 hours in time for another cup of coffee. Traffic across 205 was good both ways.

The dedication plaque is obvious at the trail head. Thank you for the land donation!

Walked over to the old fireplace at the old Multnomah Lodge. It is still hanging in there.

The boot path is steep and rocky in spots making footing tenuous at times.

The falls are amazing considering how little attention they get. I looked to see if there were any possible routes up around the falls on either side, but I wasn't going to chance it. Looked too steep.

The columnar basalt has some cool patterns and colors.

There did not appear to be too much fire damage in this area. The most I saw was at the lower area.
It was a great early morning stroll with enough time the rest of the day to do some exploring on the Washington side.

Am I the only sucker for needing to Google every name on a brass plaque?
Googling Rose’s name led me to this:
