Diamond Peak Wilderness (east)

Post by xrp » August 2nd, 2018, 8:00 pm

I just hiked the east side of Diamond Peak Wilderness yesterday and today. This includes going over the PCT (southbound) on Diamond Peak.

Mosquitoes were moderate in the afternoon between 5,500 and 6,500 feet. Give or take a couple of hundred feet. Other than that, I was practically ignored.

Supposedly the PCT “Bubble” of people is approaching Shelter Cove/Odell Lake. This kind of surprised me, but it is what [trail name] Bible told me when I stopped and spoke with him.

I came across 8 PCT thru hikers and Oregon section hikers on my 1 night.

Wonderful weather!
