I was gonna ask about that, beag, thanks for pointing it out. It seems to me that things are "buggier" than memory serves. What do you think will happen, bug-wise, if this cool summer continues? Are there certain critters that need the heat and certain ones that thrive in the cool? If we get an early winter, what then? Does this milder weather mean a bumper crop of huckleberries? Mmmmmm...huckleberries....

I'm simply planning my trips around all the six-legged stuff. The fewer chemicals on my hide, the better.

Every statistic I have seen says that our Spring was drier and warmer than average, and it's my impression as well. Remember those 3 straight weeks of sunny 80 degree days in late May?

I can't speak to whether the bugs are worse than average for my three years in the area. There are different kinds of bugs. Mosquitoes need water but flies don't so much. I don't think that a few degrees one way or the other affects them all that much, unlike an early freeze.
