Another last minute hike on the way back from Mount Rainier. To our surprise this is actually more of a mountain bike trail but we hiked it since it didn't seem busy and because I didn't know any better. Around 8 miles round trip of beautiful forest covered in many shades of green moss. Snowy conditions near the very top of the trails.

That's funny, there is also a Sandy Ridge mountain bike area on the way to Mt Hood!
Re: Sandy Ridge Hide and Seek and Rock Drop Loop
As you probably already noticed from the map it's the same one. I presume he was taking the long way home from Rainier.
Re: Sandy Ridge Hide and Seek and Rock Drop Loop
haha, yes I was taking the long way home from Rainier. We weren't satisfied with hiking near Rainier so we detoured a bit to get another hike in.

Those trails were built specifically for mountain biking. Technically they are open to foot traffic, but they were built for high speed downhill use, and not enjoyable on foot.
