Tomlike and Chinidere via Wahtum Lake

Post by Runnerinblack » June 29th, 2017, 10:43 am

Tuesday afternoon, 6/27/2017, a friend and I drove up to Wahtum, set up camp at the trail head, and set out for a few "summits."

Ran in to some snow on Herman Creek Trail #406 south of the PCT, but nothing that caused us any concern. On the way back to Wahtum from Tomlike we took Anthill Trail which had more than enough snow to cause some concern in route finding. GPS map came in handy for us on this particular day, but if the sun stays out this week, it should be gone very soon.

Trails are in great condition minus the snow, bugs were in full force. This area is great for a few reasons. The amount of landscape you get for minimal effort is outstanding. If there are relatives in the area that want to explore some gorgeous trails with views to die for with out much effort, the Wahtum trail head is a great place to set up camp for a few days.
