Fall Color and Tamanawas Falls - 10/1/16

Post by justpeachy » October 2nd, 2016, 3:28 pm

Greg and I headed out to Tamanawas Falls yesterday. I thought we would be too early for good fall color, but we were right on time. It was quite beautiful.

We had a real mixed-bag of weather, everything from rain to sunshine, and sunshine WHILE it was raining. We saw over 100 other hikers and it seemed like all of them had dogs, most of which were off-leash, which didn't seem like a good idea with SO many people around.

Something interesting to note: we saw what looked like a game camera or something similar aimed at the trailhead parking lot, although the way it was situated it could only "see" about one-third of the entire lot.

Nice fall colors.
I drove over hwy 58 Saturday morning and it was very colorful about the 4,000 ft level.
I hope to get some fall pictures sometime in the near future.
The mountains are calling and I must go.
