I did the enchantments day hike on 7/4, without the cairns I would probably still be there wondering where the trail is.

Cairns to identify an actual maintained trail through a rocky section without tread (which would otherwise require scarring the rock) is quite different than through a cross country region, where one should expect to have to deal with route-finding.

I encountered a couple stupid extraneous cairns marking a trail that nobody, absolutely nobody, could possibly miss. Three rocks high, so I added three more just to be a smartass:

I have no idea what this is supposed to be. Looks like some stoners got halfway through something and lost interest. Or maybe Tom got halfway through scattering it and lost interest.
