Wow, pretty close to a Goldilocks day down at Silver Falls today. It's not the easiest place to get snow conditions so this turned out to be an almost perfect day as Jim, Joann and I headed on down there. A quick stop at the North Falls viewpoint to get things started...
Down into the canyon and South Falls...
Lower South Falls..
Jim and Joann about to disappear behind the wall of water..
Seasonal hillside waterfall..
Footbridge over the North Fork of Silver Creek..
Lower North Falls..
A roaring Double Falls. You can just see half the old 178' sign hanging sideways from the tree in the middle..
Continuing along the Canyon Trail towards Middle North Falls..
Middle North Falls...
Winter Falls..
Looking down on the North Fork of Silver Creek nearing North Falls..
Climbing out of the canyon at North Falls and starting back on the Rim Trail..
Rim Trail..
North Falls from the Rim Trail..
Some of the Christmas Eve snow falling in the forest...
Christmas at the South Falls Lodge..
Then it snowed!
One last stop back where we started for a now barely visible in the snow North Falls..

Thanx! It was pretty fun walking in the falling snow. I don't think that happened at all last season.
Though a week of 70 degrees and sunshine wouldn't break my heart either..

Thanx! It was super quiet away from the falls. And pretty empty. The water color looked more like Opal Creek, more greens and blues than usual..Limey wrote: Go East young man!

I've gone there on Christmas Eve a couple times now. It's pretty peaceful there in the off-season on weekdays..
