What's interesting about this is, there's a separate sign for the Day Use fee and the annual fee permits. All that kerfuffle about the Forest Service trying to trick us into paying the day use fee - maybe they just forgot to put up the separate sign or someone ripped it down just to create a kerfuffle?

Between Golden Lake and Camp Lake is a route. This snowfield was about the worst of it:

"The Nose" just past Camp Lake. Only about 50 feet of snow to walk on:
Coming out of upper Chamber Lake. There's about 50 feet of snow slope about 45 degrees. In the morning it was pretty icy:

That lava flow out of Opie Dilldock Pass. It goes for mile(s). Just like Hawaii. I just like saying "Opie Dilldock":
There were Mosquitoes every day. Few flies. At Minnie Scott they were swarming - 10 on me at any one time. I wore long pants and shirt the whole time. A couple times I used a little DEET on my neck, ears, and back of hands. I wore a
Peters Headnet a couple evenings and nights:
