I had the good fortune of having to work on Friday (my usual day off) but being given Monday as a day off instead. What an excellent trade!
I went up the Wakeena Falls trail

then over to Multnomah Creek. Along the way I saw a very large tree (maybe 6-8' dia - the picture doesn't do it justice) that had apparently come apart in the high winds we had a while back.

Fortunately it fell down the drainage rather than on to the trail. The 400-Larch Mountain trail junction was an impressive mud pit - some footsteps looked 18" deep.

From there the Larch Mountain trail up to the service road had a few minor blowdowns but was otherwise in remarkably good shape. I took the service road (it will need a few trees & boulders removed before it's drivable) up and over to the Devils Rest Trail. Then on to Devils Rest, down the Foxglove Trail to the 400 trail

and then on down to the parking area.
A 9.8 mile loop - one of the many loop variations you can create from the official and unofficial trail systems that wind between Angels & Devils Rests. Nothing unique about this other than (finally) being on a sunny, snow-free trail...
