uh oh, I must be publicizing your spot
Re: Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Goat Peak and The Table 8/15-16
Why would anyone want to camp where there's nothing but dragons, monsters and horseflies? I'd stay FAR away from a place like that!

Sounds like it's going to be crowded there. Probably people from oregonhikers.org wouldn't be that bad

It would depend. They'd definitely be better than dragons or monsters. But if they bite they might be worse than horseflies.

Would the whitewater fire be of concern for this area?Aimless wrote:Probably people from oregonhikers.org wouldn't be that bad

Sort of. It's on the other side of Mount Jefferson but not too far away (5 miles, tops). It's a moot point anyway as all trails north of Minto Pass are closed now due to the fire, and it's a closure you should absolutely respect.eg83 wrote:Would the whitewater fire be of concern for this area?Aimless wrote:Probably people from oregonhikers.org wouldn't be that bad

hmmm...
south of Minto is north facing slopes, not the best
a little further south, south of Three Finger Jack, would be good but close to Santiam Pass.
