Hunchback Mountain 6/26/2008

Did a short walk up Hunchback Mountain Ridge from Zigzag Ranger Station

I did about 2 miles to 3600', talked to someone who went up to 4000', no snow in sight

Weird - there must be 6' of snow at this elevation on Benson Plateau or Tanner Butte

I've never been up Hunchback, but I saw a guy last weekend who said Kinzel Lake was still snowed in. Even in close proximity the snow pack varies greatly.

I am waiting patiently for Devil's Peak to open up.
