How do spell Oregon in January?
B - A - L - M - Y!
The sun was soft and sweet through the Sitkas....
...misty and lovely on the waves.
Three Arch Rocks were as gentle as a watercolor painting....
...and the Cape Lookout State Park spit looked awfully fetching in that see-through negligee of moisture.
Lots of toll bridges (troll bridges?)
Sitka spruce in a mosh pit of sunlight, dancing to the music of "55 Degrees Fahrenheit."
The sun baked the hillsides into crusty golden loaves of bread....
...and felt pretty good on the tootsies, too.
One final neon blast and Little Brown Bats rose out of the shadows to dance me back to the trail head.

I'm soooooo jealous! What a lovely day you had, I so miss the coast!
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir

Re: Cape Lookout and North Trail 1/18
I should add that Cape Lookout features three separate trails, North, Lookout, and South, all connecting centrally at the Lookout Trail head parking area. If you do a mix and match with either of the tangents, which both go down to the beach, you've got yourself a little trek, there. I intended to do all three but ran out of day. By the time I saw the parking lot again, the stars were so intense they almost cast shadows. An owl scared the bejiggers out of me, flying straight across my headlights.
