Tilly Jane and Cooper Spur Stone Shelter - 11/06/12

Post by jloomis » November 8th, 2012, 5:34 pm

I took my 83 year old grandpa on a hike on Tuesday. I had originally wanted to go from Cloud Cap Inn to Cooper Spur, but since the road is closed we hiked the Tilly Jane trail and turned around at the Cooper Spur stone shelter. The weather was beautiful and my grandpa did a great job with the 3,000' of elevation gain. The trail was snow free all the way to the stone shelter (except a couple tiny patches right near the shelter). We only saw one other person the entire hike. I have more pictures on my blog here.

Wow, that is so cool that you got to do that with your grandpa! Major memories, there. :)

That is awesome.
Both that your grandfather has the good health to still hike and that you enjoy sharing your time with him.

What a beautiful day for that hike! And no crowds...
Some people are really fit at eighty; thankfully I still have many years to get into shape…
