My choice of Merrell was largely narrowed down by two factors - the wide offering, and the Vibram sole. Goretex was bonus. The tipping point was that most folks seemed to think they were comfortable from the get-go. Hey now, them's fightin words. Merrells are da bomb. I agree with Karl... they're comfortable!! And these were my Montrails that took the Loowit Trail beat down here, not my MerrellsEric Peterson wrote:LOL - Only!!!
My last Merrels only last less than 200 miles! Cheap crap shoes but comfortable, resigned to
work only now...

Cool CH, Mayhem was talking about his Merrels. I like the comfort in my Merrel but they
are already coming apart after only since having them since February. Just not very well
made anymore probably
My Ahnu's are pretty sweet so far though! Did this 33 mile hike with very little
pain at the end!

Yes, doable if you know where you're going!

My Vasque Breeze GTX boots have about 350 miles on them, and they're still good. Might last me through this year. But I've only hiked about 120 miles this year. Setbacks ForTheLoss man.
I'm looking forward to more MSH trip reports. Awesome stuff.

Totally do-able! Just a few canyons and ravines where you'll have to stop for a breather and plan where you're headed. Do a TR when it happens.cliffordlo wrote:Great pics...looking at running around the trail..is it do-able? with the washout and all...happy to scramble all that I need too!

Good stuff. Thank you for this and the subsequent trail report on the trip around MSH. The report prompted me to hike this trail on 27 and 28 where I had an awesome time!
Is anyone doing MSH, Rainier and Hood this year?
