The road to the upper TH is entirely snow free and in good shape other then a few potholes.

Oh, and yeah you should try Elevator Shaft some day. It's not terribly difficult or anything, but it's fun and it's neat to poke around the area above there. You won't log a lot of miles, but your mind will appreciate it!
Oh, and before I forget, are you saying you wear headphones when you hike?? I'd love to be able to do that but I can't imagine not being able to hear my surroundings. I know I could double the lengths of my hikes if I could integrate music.
