Castle Canyon
Tito and I went to Castle Canyon today. It is located on the south west side of Mt. Hood and can be found by driving a half mile up Lolo pass, turn right, half mile. The trail head is a mile past the West Zigzag mountain trailhead up an old closed road. The sign to Castle canyon is missing at the trail head but you can see it on the north just before the road barriers on Henry creek road. It's a short hike, just 0.9 miles and 850' elevation gain. The rock formations look very ancient.

How was the road from Lolo Pass Rd to the TH?
Re: Castle Canyon
this is a really neat looking place! I'm definitely adding it to my list of places to check out. It's short, but I bet there are a lot of cool places to scramble around and explore, no?

There are a lot of big mud puddles but any auto can make it. Pushing a shopping cart on this road would be difficult though. Another way is to take Henry Creek road on the west side of Rhody.

Ah very nice! That last photo looks like you could climb all the way out on that point. Probably a little dangerous though .
