Gooch Falls Access in question

Post by Sore Feet » September 11th, 2008, 9:10 pm

I got an email from a fellow today who said that the road leading to the "trailhead" to the Gooch Falls viewpoint has been gated and posted No Trespassing. I'm pretty sure the falls are on Forest Service land but the viewpoint is on a private parcel, so this wouldn't surprise me. Anyone been there recently to corroborate this?

I noticed the sign a couple of months ago as well. There was some logging activity going on, so maybe the land owners have restricted access through their property?

The road was gated when we went in late July (it just adds about an extra 5 minutes of walking to the hike). But I don't recall seeing a No Trespassing sign on the gate.
