When is next REI sale?

Post by justpeachy » June 19th, 2008, 7:36 am

Doesn't REI usually have a summer clearance sale around the 4th of July? (A rather ironic time to have a clearance sale for a season that has barely begun, but that's a different topic.)

I'm in the market for a winter coat - so I was hoping to score some kind of summer clearance as well. I know we have a few REI employees on the site somewhere?

According to the REI person I talked to, there is a July 4th Clearance Sale from June 27 -July 6, then a Labor Day Sale Aug. 22-Sept. 1. She thought the next coupon sale would be October.

I picked up a flyer at the Clackamas town Center REI a couple days ago for a Used Gear Sale on Saturday June 21st. As usual it's a "get there early" and a "members only" deal.

Is the sale only at the downtown location? I've never been to one of these

They hold them at only one store at a time. so tomorrow's gear sale is only at Clackamas. They are crazy busy, but you can snag good deals if you've got an eagle eye and aren't afraid to use elbows. The next sale at the downtown location is August 2. If you go rei.com, and click on store locator, then click on the specific store's events page, you can get their schedule for the next couple months.

Ever go on http://www.steepandcheap.com? That's where I get all my winter coats. Bought two last year (amazing prices) and there were many, many others that popped up that I had to use self control and not buy. ;)
