combining overlapping pics into a panorama

Post by retired jerry » August 14th, 2023, 2:03 pm

I've done this before but I forget what I did

what's a good way to combine several overlapping jpg files into one panorama

using a PC

I just want to do it occasionally, so free is good

uploading to a website is fine

I've used Hugin for years. Yes, it's free.

I'd never heard of Hugin. I'm gonna try it right now and see how it compares to Photoshop CS6.

[twenty minutes later...]

HOLY LEARNING CURVE, BATMAN! :shock:

I guess I'm sticking with Photoshop.

I tried it and generated two panoramas, but I sort of screwed it up and I'm trying another. My images didn't overlap good enough. I will have a better one tomorrow

If you are on windows, Microsoft has a free one:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/researc ... te-editor/

If that doesn't work, Wikipedia has a lot of options listed:

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: WOW! What a ride! - Hunter S. Thompson
