Yocum Ridge - best time for wildflowers?

Post by greglief » August 12th, 2022, 5:08 pm

Hi all,

I plan to Yocum Ridge sometime this month. If you have been there for the peak of wildflower season, could you please let me know when you visited (and optionally share a photo or two)?

Of course this is not a "normal" year (whatever "normal" means in the Anthropocene), but I can estimate based upon whether you visited during a year with early or late snowmelt.

Thank you!

Greg

I was up there this past Sunday (8/14). Beargrass was done, avalanche lilies were mostly done, and asters were a little past their peak. Most everything else was close to peak, including western pasqueflower, paintbrush, lupine, and more.
You know exactly what to do.
There's no need to be afraid.
Keep walking.
