I swim like a brick, so I mostly just wade in the lakes, sometimes up past my waist depending where we are. Does that count? :D :lol:

I usually make it to the very, very top - of my ankles.

No - it doesn't count.

Thanks everyone for all the info. I will not be swimming in any mountain lakes, so thanks for the heads up on that one. I've never made that correlation before. Might be better to seek the quieter spots from the start and avoid the lakes entirely.

Hopefully the weather will be more typical this year and back to what I was used to when I was backpacking.
