Last Thursday, Eagle Creek, full coverage of the trail just after Twister Falls. And maintenance goes to the tunnel, trees and small landslides across the trail after that, though I went less than a mile further.

Yesterday on Wyeth Trail, full coverage above about 2000'. Various trees across the trail, generally easy stepovers.

Primrose Path 3-21-2023.jpg
Picture taken March 21, 2023 on Primrose Path,
shows snow covered salmonberry thickets even though snowpack has shrunk by a few feet!
98 % snow cover on trails above 1700 feet elevation north and west of Devil's Rest
95 % bare ground on trails below 1700 feet
Note the glissade track in the photo, not continuous but a fair amount was there, to be had, in previous days

Hamilton Mountain near summit (2350 ft), about 6-12 inches of snow. Needed micro spikes on way down as it was frozen. Looks like the trail on the ridge to the North also has plenty of snow.
Next few days will likely add moreā€¦.

Went up the PCT towards Benson on April 9. Snow free up to ~2700', then it starts to persist in the trail bed. Turned around at a ridgeline ~2900' where the snow turned deeper and continuous.

Then I walked 50 yards up the trail and was presented with this:

Not exactly "please hike me" conditions

New creek signage has been added:

for the larger creeks
Full snow coverage starts at Cedar Swamp:

only patchy before this
Good news and bad news as to trail conditions. The trail has been cleared to Casey Creek, including that big jam right before Casey Camp. Bad news: it get very bad farther up, centered around Mullinix Creek.

please stay on the trail

Drove up to Silver Star Grouse Vista and parked at the side of the road about 2 miles from the trailhead. The snow was about 12" - 14" deep. The road up to that point is in reasonably good shape aside from the usual large potholes. We hiked up about another 1 3/4 miles in what became deep, soft, sloppy snow using GPS. There was one person ahead of us and he turned around about 1/4 mile before we did as he started post-holing up to his thighs.
