Where are you seeing fall color in 2021, on road or trail?
It's just starting out on Eagle Creek and the colorful spawning salmon are not quite here yet.
Color along Eagle Creek in the Gorge is just starting.
Leaves are not just the only color.

The color in the Mt Margaret backcountry was quite nice this week...
Re: 2021 Fall colors thread
I was up there on Saturday in the mist. Color still spectacular, but the lake only came out for a minute and just the briefest glimpses of mountain/goats. Elk squeaking and bugling somewhere in the fog and one last handful of huckleberries....mountainkat wrote: ↑October 11th, 2021, 6:15 pmThe color in the Mt Margaret backcountry was quite nice this week...

Hiked the Lemei Lake Loop at Indian Heaven yesterday. It was cold and frosty so the colors were muted to begin with.
The lakes were frosty but not frozen. Saw 2 older couples camping by the lakes.
On the way out, the color started to show itself as the frost melted.
In a way the frozen ground was good as it prevented us from walking through water and mud! "The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness."

Was 26 degrees at the start but no wind. So we eventually warmed up. The campers looked cold standing outside their tents. On said they had snow and wind on Sunday night.Waffle Stomper wrote: ↑October 13th, 2021, 8:11 amLooks cold, brrrrrr.dmthomas49 wrote: ↑October 13th, 2021, 6:48 amHiked the Lemei Lake Loop at Indian Heaven yesterday.
