Middle Sister - Pole Creek Trail
Anyone been up the Middle Sister via the Pole Creek Trail recently? A buddy and I are heading over from Eugene next week to give it a go. I'm wondering about conditions and visibility.
Re: Middle Sister - Pole Creek Trail
saw on the book of face that an aunt and her nephew were in at obsidian but left the same day or after 1 night due to terrible smoke?
But the front coming through Thurs->Fri and over the weekend should significantly help bring in clear air from the West. Unlike last year's horribleness, even when the weather changed I recall there was so much smoke out over the Pacific it just blew back in over us. Shouldn't really be the case over the weekend here.
fyi need a permit for pole creek for overnight, not sure about day hiking. Also have heard going from pole creek th north to scott pass is horrific blowdown.

The Deschutes NF is pretty good about keeping trail conditions updated. Here is their current report:

Looks like 50+ trees down on the trail to Camp Lake.
