green cable on Lolo Pass Rd.

Post by pcg » June 22nd, 2020, 11:58 am

Anyone have any info about the green cable along Lolo Pass Rd.? The signs say "rural Internet" and "no copper" so I assume it's fiber. Maybe it's been there awhile, but I haven't been up there since November and just noticed it last week. It's obviously temporary, but wow, what an expense for a temporary cable. Who does it serve? When will it be removed?

Yes, today there are spools of fiber staged on Lolo Pass Rd. down towards Zig Zag, and all kinds of equipment in place higher up the road to bury cable. I'm guessing the green cable will be taken up.
