Oregon Hikers

Not getting a good snowpack till late winter has been pretty common in recent years.

I used to do a lot of x-country skiing up in the Wind River area in Washington (Old Man Pass, McClellan Meadows, etc.) and up at Adams (Pineside) but in recent years the snow cover has been so low at most of these they don't get enough snow anymore for skiing let along to justify the cost of the Washington snow park pass. They claim to groom the ski trails in those areas but I think it's been years since that has happened due to no snow. You can go out the the Gifford Pinchot snow park information page and all of them look pretty dismal right now. I wouldn't want to be a share holder in some of these mid elevation ski areas like ski bowl.

I see from the thread title that Oregon Hikers are still living in the past (2020). I guess it might be time to start a new snow level thread for the year the rest of the world is living in (2021).

I wondered about that too, but season is more important than calendar year, right?
Do we even need a year designation? What if we just had a perpetual snow-level thread with no year designation? Wouldn't that work just fine?
Anyway, 2020 was a great year; I hate to let it go.

I was thinking about that the other day. Skibowl must really be hurting this season. They've tried to expand into summer activities, as has Timberline.
