Brush Creek

Post by JThomasJeffrey » November 6th, 2019, 12:38 pm

From the Brush Creek trailhead it used to be possible to go south to the edge of the Brush Creek Canyon and then turn west going up the ridge to intersect the original trail. From that point it was easy to follow the trail all the way to the PCT.

It has been several years since I did this. I tried yesterday and was able to get only 0.4 miles from the parking lot before running into very thick and high Snowbrush and Manzanita. I had to use my GPS to find my way back to my car.

I noticed that from the old trailhead someone has tied orange ribbon to the brush. Maybe someone is marking the route of the old trail? If so there is a lot of brush they will have to cut to make the trail passable.
